The EchoLogger ECT D052S is a drone-integrated dual-frequency echo-sounder system optimized for bathymetric and underwater surveys from UAV platforms. Operated at 50 kHz and 200 kHz, it allows for depth measurement up to 200 m depending on frequency, distinguishing both sediment layers and hard bottom substrate.

Engineered for integration with UAVs such as the DJI M350 RTK or M300 RTK, the ECT D052S includes tilt and temperature sensors, an RS-232 interface for the SkyHub onboard computer, and a rugged mounting system for aerial deployment. 

Ideal for hydrographic mapping, dredging monitoring, environmental assessment and shoreline or shallow-water surveys, the ECT D052S brings aerial bathymetry into the UAV domain for enhanced coverage, safety and efficiency.

EchoLogger ECT D052S FAQ

The ECT D052S supports depth measurements from approximately 0.5 m (at 200 kHz) up to 200 m depending on water clarity and substrate conditions. The 50 kHz channel enables deeper penetration through softer sediments (up to ~200 m) while the 200 kHz channel provides higher resolution for shallower surveys.

The ECT D052S is engineered to mount on enterprise UAV platforms such as the DJI M350 RTK or M300 RTK (or comparable systems). Operators should verify the aircraft’s payload capability, mounting configuration, and integration with the onboard computer (SkyHub) and terrain-following/radar altimeter systems for best performance.

This echo sounder is geared for aerial bathymetry, dredging and sediment monitoring, hydrology surveys, shallow-water depth mapping, and remote area survey operations where traditional boats are impractical. The dual-frequency design allows both sediment layer detection and depth profiling, making it ideal for environmental and infrastructure applications.
