Challenge

The agency needed faster eyes-on-scene for priority calls in a dense downtown core, with strict NDAA-aligned procurement. Existing manual UAV deployments averaged 8–12 minutes to launch, and rooftop access constraints ruled out multiple manned launch points.

Solution

Remote Robotic ran a 30-day site survey to identify three rooftop sites with clean radio horizons and existing power. We installed three DJI Dock 2 stations with Matrice 3TD aircraft, integrated dispatch with the agency's CAD/911 stack via FlightHub 2 and a custom dispatch bridge, and trained two pilot supervisors and twelve responders on remote operations from the ROC.

Outcome

Within 90 days the program was operational 24/7 across the downtown core. Median time-on-scene dropped to 82 seconds for priority calls, with autonomous return-to-dock on 96% of missions and zero airframe losses in the first six months.

We went from a manual UAV team to a 24/7 autonomous program in one quarter. The integration with our CAD was the part we expected to take a year — Remote Robotic delivered it in weeks.
