MetScan is a drone-mounted laser methane detection payload paired with AIRINS.ai cloud analytics software for automated gas leak screening across pipelines, well sites, and energy facilities.
How it works
MetScan mounts to DJI Matrice 350 / Matrice 400 platforms via the Payload SDK and streams methane concentration data at 50 Hz using a Class 3R tunable laser. AIRINS.ai processes each flight into geo-referenced leak maps and inspection reports.
Automated scan modes
- Belt Scan — continuous corridor coverage for pipeline right-of-way screening
- Sector Scan — structured sweep of facilities, tank farms, and compressor stations
Key capabilities
- Laser-based remote methane sensing — no contact with the gas plume required
- 3-axis gimbal stabilization for consistent standoff measurement
- 50 Hz data output for high-resolution leak localization
- AIRINS.ai reporting with leak position, concentration, and audit-ready documentation
