Yes — according to the documentation, you need a laptop (or supported controller software) to connect and manage the base station and drone’s RTK correction stream.

The FAQ notes that you may need to wait 30-60 seconds for a “fixed” signal. Additionally, ensure the base station is mounted >6.5 ft above ground and clear of tall obstructions for best performance.

While designed specifically for the IF800 and IF1200 platforms, users should verify compatibility and integration with other systems — the manufacturer emphasises use with the matching dual GNSS modules in those platforms.
