Spot EAP-2 FAQ

The EAP-2 adds long-range LiDAR (100 m) instead of Spot’s base stereo cameras (~4 m), significantly improving Spot’s sensing, mapping and navigation in larger or more dynamic environments.

Yes — the onboard 5G/LTE modem and powerful compute module allow you to deploy edge AI, remote-connect missions, and custom sensor integrations more easily, reducing separate payload integration work.

Yes — the module adds ~3.1-3.6 kg. Since Spot's total payload capacity is ~14 kg, you’ll need to account for module + any additional sensors within that limit, and consider additional power draw may reduce runtime.
