The SENSYS MagDrone R4 is a high-resolution airborne magnetometer kit engineered for professional UAV surveys in applications such as UXO detection, archaeology, mining exploration and buried infrastructure mapping. Featuring five triaxial Fluxgate sensors and a compact design that mounts to any UAV with a 2 kg + payload, the MagDrone R4 delivers detailed magnetic field data with exceptional spatial resolution. 

With a sampling rate of 200 Hz and internal 8 GB memory, it enables efficient, ground-vehicle-free data acquisition over difficult terrain — covering up to 3-4 hectares per hour when flown at ~50 cm altitude on a 2.5 m swath.

SENSYS MagDrone R4 FAQ

The MagDrone R4 is designed to mount on professional UAV platforms with payload capacity of at least 2 kg (commonly the DJI M300 RTK / M350 RTK). Ensure your drone is equipped with terrain-following and low-altitude flight capabilities to achieve optimal survey results.

For maximum sensitivity in detecting small ferrous objects (such as UXO or artefacts), flight altitudes of ~0.5 metres above the surface are recommended. The system’s 200 Hz sampling and multi-sensor array filter out drone noise even when mounted close to landing gear.

Use the bundled MagDrone DataTool to visualize, filter, trim and export raw magnetic data. For advanced analysis, such as target isolation and geospatial mapping, the MAGNETO® software suite by SENSYS is compatible
